Review- The Black Hatt in Geelong brings a touch of class to live music from blues to heavy rock! This little venue infuses the old and the new providing bands with a great space to cut up the stage and for the patrons to hear and dance to their favourite artists or genre. The decor is pared back elegance. The star of the show is the central bar and is enhanced by the beautiful black pressed metal ceiling and large crystal chandeliers. Everything else is simple, sleek and architectural. The beer garden opens off the main band area and is elevated to give prime viewing position while still connected to the inside action by the large bi-fold doors. The music they offer up is eclectic rock, however check out our gig guide though, as this venue is gig specific and not always open. They typically attract a more mature audience, but this could be more to do with the type of music. They are happy to host private parties and are unique in that they will provide the Bull Ring, Yes! they have a Bucking Bull which they are happy to offer up for your guests enjoyment. Ensuring your party is entertaining as well as memorable. They also have a coffee machine and make a mean cappuccino. The pool table is popular and the bar area is a great breakout space and attracts its own loyal followers.
